In recognition of the importance of the Brigalow State School tour small rural community the Parents and Citizens Association plays a very active role in the life the school.
The Association meets at the school on the second Monday evening of each month during the school term.
In many ways the P&C works to promote the interests of the school community and its development. For example, the fundraising activities have contributed to improvements to the school grounds, buildings and resources. Subsidisation of school camps, Arts Council and uniforms have allowed greater accessibility for all families.
P&C volunteers contribute their time and labour to maintaining and improving the school grounds, and also catering at school events.
With the construction of the nearby Kogan Creek Power Station and the resulting increases in traffic past the school the P&C played a strong role in advocating for improvements to the grounds and buildings to ameliorate these effects. The Association recognises the contribution made by CS energy as a result of this process.
Most importantly the P&C acts as a conduit within the community, facilitating the common goal of striving for the best educational outcomes for the children of the district.
